Oak Lawn Court Docket: Cook County Circuit Court
Oak Lawn is a village in Cook County. Like all Cook County municipalities, Oak Lawn does not operate its own circuit court. The Cook County Circuit Court handles all felony, misdemeanor, civil lawsuit, divorce, probate, and domestic relations cases for Oak Lawn residents. The clerk of the circuit court is Mariyana T. Spyropoulos. The main clerk office is located at 50 W. Washington, Suite 1001, Chicago, IL 60602. Phone: (312) 603-5030. The Cook County Clerk of Court website has online search tools and forms.
Oak Lawn is part of the 5th Municipal District. The 5th District courthouse is the Bridgeview Courthouse at 10220 S. 76th Ave, Bridgeview, IL 60455. This is where hearings and many in-person clerk functions take place for Oak Lawn and other south Cook County communities. If you have a court date or need to file documents in person for a 5th District case, Bridgeview is your destination.
Cook County is not part of Judici.com. Judici covers many downstate Illinois counties but does not include Cook County. All Oak Lawn circuit court case searches go through the Cook County clerk's own tools. Keep this in mind before looking for Oak Lawn records on Judici.
Oak Lawn Court Docket Online Access
The Cook County online case lookup tool is at cookcountyclerkofcourt.org/online-case-information. You can search by case number, party name, or attorney name. The system covers civil, domestic relations, probate, traffic, and county division cases. Results show brief summaries of court events and case history. They are not the official paper record, so you cannot print a certified copy directly from this tool.
Criminal case dockets are not online in Cook County. This is one of the key differences between Cook County and most other Illinois counties. If you need an Oak Lawn criminal court docket, you must go to the clerk's office in person. There is no workaround for this. The restriction applies equally to misdemeanor and felony cases.
The re:SearchIL portal covers Illinois Supreme Court and Appellate Court documents and has been free since May 2025. It does not include Cook County Circuit Court cases, so it will not return Oak Lawn trial court records. If a Cook County case was appealed, re:SearchIL may have the appellate docket.
Note: Under the Illinois Remote Access Policy, certain case types are restricted from public online viewing. These include eviction, family, foreclosure, guardianship, probate, small claims, traffic, and orders of protection. Parties to those cases may have access that the general public does not.
Oak Lawn Municipal Court
The Village of Oak Lawn runs a municipal court for local ordinance violations. This court is at 9446 S. Raymond Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453, and the phone number is (708) 499-7737. The municipal court handles parking tickets, village ordinance violations, and local code enforcement matters only. It does not handle any criminal cases, civil suits, or anything else that goes to Cook County Circuit Court.
If you got a parking ticket issued by the Village of Oak Lawn, your hearing is in municipal court, not the county courthouse. The docket for those village hearings is entirely separate from the Cook County circuit court docket. If you are unsure which court handles your issue, call the village directly before making a trip to Bridgeview or downtown Chicago.
Getting Copies of Oak Lawn Court Docket Records
You can get certified copies of court records from the Cook County Clerk of Court. For civil and non-criminal cases, brief summaries are viewable online, but certified copies require a formal request. You can go in person to 50 W. Washington, Suite 1001 in Chicago, or visit the Bridgeview Courthouse for 5th District matters. Written mail requests are accepted but take longer to process.
For criminal case copies, in-person visits are required since those dockets are not online. Bring the full name of the person involved and any case number you already have. Per-page copy fees apply. The clerk's staff can help you locate the file even if you only have a name and approximate date range.
Some records are never available to the public. Juvenile cases, adoption records, sealed files, and expunged cases are not searchable or copyable regardless of how you request them. The Illinois Legal Aid records guide is a good resource if you are new to this process and want a step-by-step walkthrough.
Oak Lawn Court Docket and Electronic Filing
Civil cases in Cook County are filed electronically through eFileIL, the statewide mandatory e-filing platform. This applies to most civil filings from Oak Lawn: lawsuits, motions, and responses. After the clerk accepts a filing, it typically appears in the electronic docket within one to two business days. Both lawyers and self-represented filers can use eFileIL, though the system can take some time to learn.
If you are a party to a pending case, logging into your eFileIL account lets you track filings on your case. For cases you are not a party to, use the public search on the Cook County clerk website. The Illinois Courts website provides guides for self-represented filers who need help with the process.
Note: The Illinois Circuit Court Clerks Directory lists all circuit court clerks statewide, which can help if you are tracking down the right office for a case in a county other than Cook.
